The community outreach programme is the part of SBCO's work which helps to fulfill our objective to give people in all situations the opportunity to enjoy both making and listening to music.   Music is an important part of life and in a sparsely populated rural area, such as the Scottish Borders, it is vital that music is taken to the people.

To this end, SBCO can be found  leading workshops in schools through its Meet the Music Project; working in conjunction with Scottish Borders Council through The Laldie Project; and providing ensembles to give concerts in nursing homes etc. as part of the SBCO Care Home Programme.
