Scottish Borders Community Orchestra was originally set up with the overall aim of enriching the musical life of the Scottish Borders.  Since its inception in 1999, SBCO has created many opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to make music together, with the support of professional musicians both from the Borders and from further afield; and has taken live music to audiences throughout the Borders and occasionally elsewhere. 

The organisation was established as a charity in 1999, and registered as a charitable company limited by guarantee in 2001.  Its Scottish Charity Number is SC032382, and its Company Number is SC219563.
